Reno Advertising is set to begin advertising on Twitter on Monday, a spokesperson for the advertising agency told RTE.
“Reno has not been affected by social media campaigns and there will be no changes to our advertising campaigns on Twitter,” the spokesperson said.
Reno’s spokesperson added that Reno has no plans to change the way in which it advertises on social media platforms and it will continue to use its existing advertising platforms.
The spokesperson did not respond to queries about the Twitter ad campaign.
The company is planning to target specific Twitter users by using hashtags including #reno and #twitter.
ReNo’s spokesperson said Twitter is “doing what it needs to do to ensure that our campaigns are ad free”.
“We will continue our engagement with Twitter and have no plans at this time to change how we advertise on Twitter.”
ReNo, which was founded in 2010, has worked with Twitter since 2011 and has been one of the largest social media advertising companies in the world.
In March, Reno was awarded a €1.9 million ($2.6 million) deal to run an advertising campaign featuring its iconic Reno ads.
In June, the social network announced that it was considering banning Reno from using its services until further notice.
