Fox Sports announced Thursday it has purchased the rights to a wide range of TV ads on its website.
The ad buy is a big boost for Fox as it prepares to launch a new streaming service in 2018, the company said.
The deal, which was announced at a media conference in London, was announced a day after Fox Sports revealed it had signed a deal with the world’s largest ad agency, Arnott & Hart.
The agency is based in the United Kingdom.
Fox Sports is the first sports network to have a multi-channel deal, following the launch of the NFL Network in October.
The network’s ad buys, which will begin on Sept. 3, are expected to total more than $2 billion.
It is the biggest-ever advertising deal for a sports network.
The advertising buy was announced as Fox Sports said it had purchased a number of spots to promote the launch in 2018 of the new Fox Sports Go streaming service.
The sports network said it was adding a new segment on its home page called “SportsCenter,” which will be an “in-depth look at the biggest stories in sports.”
The new segment will focus on what’s happening in sports as a story and “celebrate the most important moments from the past week.”
