Why are the biggest films in theaters with no new releases available on April 13?
When we first got ahold of our next installment in the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we were expecting to see a new release date.
It wasn’t until we got our hands on a trailer for the new film, The Last Republic, that we realized we had missed out on a potentially great film.
We were all in shock, but the movie did not disappoint.
The Last Republic is the sequel to the wildly successful The Last Airbender, which debuted at the box office last weekend.
It earned a solid $6.6 million, putting it ahead of the original film by over $30 million.
The Last Samurai was also a hit in Japan, earning $1.7 million.
In China, The Great Wall was a $1 million success.
It also made an immediate splash in the US, taking in over $20 million in its opening weekend, which made it the top-grossing film in the history of the box-office.
Star Wars: Last Jedi earned a $12 million domestic total on a $150 million budget, making it the third highest-grossed film of all time.
While we were all hoping for more, we knew there would be plenty of new releases to catch up on.
Luckily, The Force Awakens has now been released in cinemas, giving us the opportunity to see what new films are coming out in April.
Here are 10 new films to keep an eye on.
If you’re a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this could be the time for you.
Marvel has released a slate of new films in May that is already going strong, including Ant-Man and the Wasp, Thor: Ragnarok, Captain Marvel and The Avengers: Infinity War.
It’s the best month for Marvel in almost a decade, and it could get even better in April if the filmography of all of these films hits the mark.
