In the past few weeks, Lamar has unveiled outdoor advertising signs at the 2017 NHL All-Star Game in Nashville, Tennessee, as well as at the 2019 Winter Classic in Chicago, as part of a new initiative that will run through 2020.
This will be the first time that Lamar is showing outdoor advertising at the NHL All Star Game.
Lamar’s signature outdoor ad is an iconic image of two hockey players, the puck bouncing up and down the ice.
The image is used to mark the beginning of each season for NHL hockey in the United States.
Lamar said it was important to show the fans at home how their favorite players were enjoying the game and what the new advertising initiative would mean for the game.
“Lamars vision of advertising at a time of great change is one of the driving forces behind the initiative,” Lamar President and CEO John Koeppe said in a statement.
“As our industry grows, the opportunity to engage with fans on a broader scale through an outdoor advertising campaign, and showcase the talents of the hockey world at the highest level, is an incredible opportunity to grow our business.”
The NHL has a longstanding commitment to promoting diversity in its fan base, and Lamar, which also owns the Lamar Arena in Nashville and the Lamars Sports Arena in Toronto, said it would continue to support that goal.
